Hell & High Waters

This is not a drill.

Where do we go from here?

As democracy erodes and the infrastructure of America crumbles,
we watch Israel and the U.S. commit genocide with impunity on the people of palestine.

Their military actions do not comply with international humanitarian law.

Why is this happening?

"It is not power that corrupts but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it and fear of the scourge of power corrupts those who are subject to it. "

-- Aung San Sun Kyi

How did we get here?

Our civil servants do not serve the american people or what's in our best interests.
Instead, They serve their own self-interest and that of corporations, organized crime, and the ultra wealthy.

As their depravity seems to be boundless, it's on us alone to educate ourselves and others on the reaches of their corruption.

This Granddaughter of a Holocaust Survivor Says:
Stop the Genocide in Gaza.

In 1939, my grandfather, Sol Berg, began his escape from Hitler, the Nazis, and the Holocaust. In 2005, I interviewed Sol on film to document his account of survival and his reflections in later-life. He believed his escape to be miraculous.

Today, in 2024, like many Holocaust survivors of Sol’s generation, he is no longer alive. But after recently rewatching that interview, I find his words more relevant than ever.

When trying to make sense of what I was seeing on the world stage last October, I began to unravel a narrative that is far from the mainstream history books and widely underrepresented in the United States. There are broader influences of greed and corruption that seep into all reaches of life. The conflict in is no exception, and once again the United States in on the wrong side of history.

One year ago, as Israeli escalations with Hamas reached a critical point, the lessons my grandfather shared with me became a stark reminder that history repeats itself.

Holocaust survivors said “never again,” but today, we witness leaders with the same disregard for justice as the tyrants of the past. The Palestinian people deserve liberation from occupation, and the world cannot ignore their suffering.

My grandfather summed it up simply at the end of his interview, but I’m here to share his voice, my own, and other independents, in hopes to get people talking about what might really be happening.

When people or nations act with impunity, it reflects a dangerous imbalance of power and accountability. Such actions, whether in the context of conflict, governance, or global influence, undermine international laws and human rights standards.

When leaders or governments are able to commit acts of violence, oppression, or injustice without facing consequences, it sets a precedent that further fuels cycles of violence and abuse, both within their borders and globally.

Draw your own conclusions.

From a Jew that Stands for Justice...

To me, to be Jewish today is to embrace our identity as a people of the diaspora, unified not by land, but by culture, faith, and shared history. For centuries, we have thrived in community across the globe. Taking land from those who have lived there for generations, while a distinctly imperial practice, is not something we can continue to accept.

As a people who know the pain of exile and persecution, we must reject colonization and stand for justice, coexistence, and the dignity of all people—Palestinians included. True strength lies not in replicating systems of oppression, but in forging a future rooted in peace and ethical responsibility.

The violence and loss of life that we have witnessed on both sides of the conflict are deeply tragic and heartbreaking. Each life lost represents a world of potential and a family shattered by grief. No one should have to live in fear, suffer displacement, or endure the trauma of war.

As we seek justice and a path to peace, please remember the shared humanity of all people involved, and make no mistake, we all are people.  We all deserve to live in peace, safety, and dignity.

Not all Jews are Zionists,
and not all Zionists are Jewish.

What we are witnessing today reflects agendas shaped by influential figures of the past and present, whose decisions do not align with the principles of justice or morality.

They’re people in the public and people in the shadows. They’ve knowingly profited from these never-ending wars, the destruction of the planet, and the poisoning of our food. They’re using the Jewish identity to perpetrate these crimes, and we are all complicit.

The future is shaped by those who stand up and speak out, and it will be shaped through our collective unified voice. The only power we have is in our numbers, and with our dollars.

Local activism and community are our only choices.
It's time to get organized, to exercise our freedoms of speech and press, and to fight against oppression.

People before profits
